BeBIF
The official start of BeBIF, a network project associated to the BEN services was on June 1st 2002. This project is sponsored by the Belgian Science Policy Office. BeBIF is the Belgian part of a world-wide effort named GBIF (for Global Biodiversity Information Facility). It is an endeavour to build the prototype of a Belgian bioinformatics infrastructure to integrate within a unified environment several Belgian Biodiversity resources
BCCM
The official start of the BCCM Computing action officially began on March 2002. This project is sponsored by the Belgian Science Policy Office. The aim of the project is an implementation of a common application to manage the data of collections of microorganisms, using a multiuser system.
